In May, Laureate Foundation arranged a visit to Roshni Association for Youth Councils working under the US Consulate. Ms. Rachael Chen, the Culture Attache of the US Consulate, Lahore and Mr. Jamal-ul-Din Ghazanffar, the Youth Advisor, joined them. The visit was organized to observe Global Youth Service Day 2015, to encourage the young generation to volunteer for organizations like Roshni Association that work for special adults and for the education of the less privileged children.
Besides visiting Green Earth Roshni School and meeting our special friends in the workshops and houses of Roshni Village, the members of the Youth Councils took keen interest in our organic farming and planted owers in the village. Ms. Chen was impressed by the work we have been doing and was very happy to have visited Roshni.
The youth groups bought many items made by our special friends in the textile, wood and art workshops and in our organic bakery. This was a source of great encouragement for our special persons as well as sta members. Roshni Association hopes that such experiences will be helpful to actively engage our youth in providing care for people with special needs.
