Outreach Programme in Karbath Village

Outreach Programme is a project of Amin Maktab, a school for special children in Gulberg, Lahore. It is an early intervention programme that aims to provide awareness, psychological treatment and counselling facilities to special children and adults in the economically depressed areas of Lahore. The programme is being conducted in collaboration with the Punjab Welfare Trust for the Disabled.

Roshni Association is located in Karbath Village. In the village, the families of special children do not have any awareness about the identification and rehabilitation of such children. Roshni Association, although being an institute for special adults, decided to collaborate with Amin Maktab for this project for the sake of community welfare. A meeting with families of special persons and Ms. Farzana Razi from Amin Maktab, was organized in Roshni Association on 21st April, 2016. Ms. Razi and her team introduced the project and recorded the names of special children and adults of Karbath Village.

Through this programme, local ladies from the village have been trained to identify the families who need support and will be oering their services. The training has been given by the experienced staff of Amin Maktab. Ms. Shamsa Murtaza and Ms. Saima Sattar Bajwa will lead the project as Master Trainers from Karbath Village. Ms. Shamsa is also a member of Girls Guide Association of Pakistan and a renowned lady of the village. The other trainees will work with her in future. Ms. Saima is Daycare Service Support Manager in Roshni.
