Roshni Association organized a summer camp on its premises, from 8th till 18th June, 2015. Students from Green Earth Roshni School and a few other students participated in the camp. They worked in art, textile and wood workshops, bakery and our farm with our special persons. The aim of the summer camp was to give an opportunity to children to learn some skills and to appreciate the work our special friends do in their workshops.
The students learnt the names of different tools used in the wood workshop and made knitting needles, pencil holders, a stage for puppetry, key chains and wall hangings for their own school. In the textile workshop, the participants learnt simple cutting techniques and stitching of clothes, maintenance of sewing machines and different methods of embroidery. In the art workshop they made beautiful decorative items from recycled material and handmade jewellery. In Roshni farm, they harvested different vegetables like cucumber and gourd. They also made delicious chicken and vegetable sandwiches and patties in our bakery. On their last day the students exhibited the products they had made with the special persons and received certificates from Mr. Muhammad Zahid Durrani, General Secretary of Roshni Association.
